ភស្តុភារបណ្តាការ - The Dowry Counting!

The arrival of the groom with the dowry, the dowry will be placed at the front platform of the wedding shelter ( Rong Ka, Pteas Ka - ផ្ទះការ ) for the wedding Priest-Prayer to count for the pride family, to make sure it enough or not.

The dowry counting is prepared by the wedding priest-prayer ( មហារ​ - Moha ) who is called by the pride family with paid services. The time of counting the dowry, the Moha call another group in the party called music group ( វង្សភ្លេង - Vong Pleng ), to call such Kon Anderk, to carry the dowry with their accompanying songs. When the singers, already collected the dowry, they bring that to the moha, to count and modify with the pride family members.

When there is the completion of the dowry counting, there is the starting of the wedding ceremony ( ថ្ងៃចូលរោង​ - Day One Beginning ), and all the guest are invited to a meal reception for a sincerely thanks for their honor presence and help to the party..,etc.

The pride prepared herself for welcoming the groom!

At the pride's house or at the wedding shelter, the pride must prepare herself for welcoming the arrival of the groom's dowry. And at the pride party, they have some prepared of such gifts to give back to the groom, when they come and face to face giving each other with salutation. 

The starting to walk across the path from shelter where which crowded of guests who come, help and wishing the new wedding couple. Here you can see, a small young boy and girl, the young girl on the right and the young boy on the left hand ( face from the picture ). These young we call, Kon Anderk (Tortoise Babies) the young pair that used to show of the pair of the couple. In our culture, we always have that young pair when there is wedding celebration. To have the pair is to having the completion of couple party, we never take boy or only girl, but we take both of them for accompanying the couple party to be succeeded and with color wish of the new couple fate.

The coming out of the pride across the crowded guests, and the guest could the pride fashion, and talk and happy wishing to the pride that is the time of her dream, and the real dream of the Cambodian women, in her whole life, have to have a marriage day!

Here is the coming of dowry from the groom party, they the pride and the groom families give the gifts to each other, and the time of the pride welcoming the groom, and wish the groom to relies all the bad thing, and coming for new day and lucky-happy ending.
